Sosu Terms of Service

Effective October 7, 2026.

1. Agreement and eligibility

These terms are an agreement between you and Hintekk LLC ("Hintekk", "we", "us") for your use of the Sosu app and services. By creating an account or using Sosu, you agree to these terms and to the Sosu Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Sosu.

To use Sosu you must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You may have one account, tied to a mobile number you control.

2. What Sosu is, and is not

Sosu is a tool for organizing savings groups (njangi, tontine, susu). It helps members set up circles, plan rounds, track who has paid, and talk in an encrypted chat.

Sosu is not a bank or a money transmitter. Sosu does not take deposits, hold members' money, lend its own money, pay interest, or guarantee any payment. Payments made another way (cash, Zelle, bank or mobile money transfer) go directly between members; Sosu only records them. When in-app payments launch, licensed payment partners will move the money under their own terms. Sosu never pays a member in place of another member who has not paid.

3. Your account

You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code we text you. Keep your phone and codes to yourself: anyone who gets a code sent to your number can sign in as you. An account is signed in on one phone at a time, and signing in on a new phone signs out the old one. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at info@hintekk.com if you think someone else has used it. Keep your profile accurate, and do not impersonate anyone.

4. Text message (SMS) terms

• Program: Sosu verification codes. Sosu texts you a one-time code when you ask for one to sign in, verify your number, or confirm a sensitive action such as deleting your account. Example: "Sosu: your code is 123456".
• Consent: entering your number and tapping to get a code is your consent to receive that code. Receiving texts is not a condition of any purchase.
• Frequency: one message per request, at most 3 an hour and 5 a day per number.
• Cost: message and data rates may apply.
• Help: reply HELP, or email info@hintekk.com.
• Stopping: reply STOP to stop all texts from Sosu. We will send one message confirming you have opted out. You can opt in again by replying START. Without texts, you cannot sign in on a new phone.
• Carriers: mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Privacy: we do not share or sell your mobile number or text-message consent with third parties for marketing. See the Sosu Privacy Policy.

5. Groups, circles and what members agree to

A group's admins set its rules: contribution amounts, the circle order, the late fee and grace days, and whether guarantors are required. By joining a group or circle, you agree with its other members to follow those rules: pay your contribution each round, and pay back in later rounds after you receive a payout.

These commitments are between members, not with Hintekk. Sosu applies the rules the group set, shows everyone the same records, and reminds people. It does not collect money from anyone, enforce payment, or make up for a member who does not pay. A guarantor's promise to pay for another member is between them and the group.

You cannot leave a circle, or delete your account, while you still owe for a payout you have received.

6. Payments, confirmations and disputes

• Paying another way: you record the method and amount, and add a screenshot unless you paid in cash. The payment stays pending until the person paid confirms it.
• Not received: if they say they did not receive it, the payment is disputed and the group's admins decide whether it counts as paid. Hintekk does not decide disputes between members.
• Accurate records: you must not record payments you did not make, or upload false or altered proof.
• In-app payments, once available, are processed by licensed partners under their terms.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use Sosu to:

• defraud, mislead or pressure other members, or run a scheme that promises returns;
• launder money, finance illegal activity, or evade sanctions;
• harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or share illegal content;
• request codes for numbers you do not own, or flood Sosu with requests;
• break, probe or reverse-engineer Sosu's security, or access other people's data;
• use Sosu in breach of any law that applies to you or your group.

8. Your content

You own what you put in Sosu: your profile, payment proofs and messages. You let Hintekk store, process and show that content to the people it is meant for, only to run Sosu. Chat messages are end-to-end encrypted, so we cannot read them. You are responsible for your content and for having the right to share it.

9. Fees

Sosu is free to use today. If we add fees, we will show them in the app before you agree to them. Your mobile carrier and payment providers may charge their own fees.

10. Suspension, termination and deletion

You can delete your account in the app at any time. If you still owe for a payout you received, deletion is scheduled for when that commitment ends.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other members at risk, or when the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you why first. Records other members rely on, such as a group's payment history, stay after an account closes, as the Sosu Privacy Policy describes.

11. Disclaimers, liability and indemnity

Sosu is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, Hintekk makes no warranties: not that Sosu will be uninterrupted or error-free, nor that any member will pay what they owe.

To the extent the law allows, Hintekk is not liable for:

• money lost because another member did not pay, paid late, or misled you;
• indirect, incidental or consequential losses;
• texts that are delayed or not delivered.

Hintekk's total liability to you is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not let us limit.

You agree to cover Hintekk's losses from claims caused by your breach of these terms or your misuse of Sosu.

12. Disputes, governing law, changes and contact

• Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute is decided by the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you and Hintekk agree to their jurisdiction. If you live where local consumer law gives you more protection, that protection still applies.
• Changes: if we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Using Sosu after that means you accept the new terms.
